I know what your thinking... "are there really any disadvantages of being tall?". Well yes there are many, so be careful what you wish for kids!

Unless you are tall, or know someone tall, you never really think that tall people do actually have it bad sometimes. So let's take a look at the biggest disadvantages of being tall.

Public Transport

Even for average height people, sitting on public transport seats is very uncomfortable. Whether it's buses, planes or trains the seat are never big enough. Try having to endure a 10 hour flight in a cramped seat with your knees being shredded be the seat in front of you. It's modern day torture.

Beds are too small

There's nothing worse than your feet hanging off the bed when your trying to get to sleep. Especially on a cold night, your feet get freezing!

Blocking other people's views

You have all been there. Your in a cinema, or a lecture theatre and some giant comes and sits right in front of you resulting in the next 2 hours of your life being hell , suffering from a sore neck due to the continious bending of your neck. Well it's not just you that suffers. These 'giants' actually also feel really uncomfortable. They know the problems they are causing to people behind them, but they have no choice.

Cooking and cleaning the dishes

Kitchen sinks and tops are made for people with average height. I hate bending down to prepare my food and wash the dishes. I usually spend a good 30 mins as a minimum preparing food and there's nothing worse than having to bend your back for the whole process.  The kitchen sink is always even lower than the top, so II have to bend down even more to wash the dishes. My wife (who is 6 inches smaller than me) has no problems, everything is at the right height for her (except for those strategically placed secret stash of cookies in the copt cupboard)!

Doggy style

I won't go into this one much, but if a man is much taller than his girlfriend / wife, then his upper leg length makes this particular position very difficult.

You have to laugh at that last point about doggy style. Who would have thought it!

I'm 6ft 4 inches so I guess you could say i'm tall. I hate blocking the views of other people, I know it annoys them but I can't do much about it.

I'm also between 6'4'' and 6'5'' - but also very broad shouldered - you can imagine how annoying it is for me (and for the person next to me) on a flight! If the theatre rows are on a large incline, like an Imax, i don't feel bad, I just slouch a bit. Sometimes walking down a sidewalk I'll actually hit my head on the sagging tips of branches of trees that have been trimmed with the average 5'10'' person in mind lol! And finally, I think the doggy style picture is hilarious. So unnecessary, which makes it so funny...none of the other points have pictures and then boom. I've never noticed an issue with doggy actually, perhaps it's because a lot of my length comes from my torso. All of the above are a small price to pay for the many benefits of being tall though!

Haha, the last one is not true, I'm only 4'9.1'' and my boyfriend is 5'10'' and doggy style works perfect for us.

I'm 6'5 and wondering if this Satirical. If not this is hilarious. This is whining from a tall B. Itch, deal with it, scrub and if you have trouble with doggy than you have a small willy or your a bad sad lover. If your tall than be strong enough to pick her up so you can hold her standing up and work it against a wall if she get too heavy, like out of some 80's music video. Due a little exercise for your weak back and find a more physically efficient way to complete daily tasks that you feel disadvantaged at.

Some major drawbacks are forgotten though : - since it demands more energy to move that bigger body, you need to eat more - short people live longer than tall people

The list should include bumping heads...on signs, branches, doorways. At 6' 5", as I walk I tend to watch my step and walk looking down then WHAM....stars.

I am just over 6'2"/6'3" and consistently have a bad back due to sink placements, WC's utilities, hand dryers and all the rest of them are always far too low. People think I am joking, but think about just how much you use these utilities, every day of your life! Beds are the second most irritating. Glad someone acknowledges it is not all good news!
